About Me

I am a quantitative (geo)scientist who wants to have a better understanding of what is going on deep beneath our feet!

My research interests lie in the area of combined simulation-optimization (CSO), geostatistics, inverse problems, stochastic simulation, and uncertainty quantification all in close association with computer simulations and novel computational methods in the context of heterogeneous geosystems.

Under the umbrella of geostatistical methods, my research centers on novel multiple-point statistics (MPS) algorithms.
MPS approaches have great potential for modeling complex heterogeneities in subsurface systems by employing training image(s) as the conceptual geomodel for describing the features of the target field.

My major focus is on developing a more comprehensive and robust CSO framework for the design and optimal control of geothermal systems under uncertainty during long-term operation.
