With my studies of Geoecology I learned multidisciplinary strategies to analyze and understand environmental problems and complex natural systems. Consequently, I try to combine methods and knowledge of hydro(geo)logy, ecology and climatology for my research. Therefore, I am interested in groundwater ecology. I will study the microbial und faunistic communities of urban aquifers to link them to chemical properties and temperature development of the groundwater. Questions like “What are the influences of urbanization and climate change to ecological functions and services of our groundwater?” are driving me on. I love the field and laboratory work and they are essential for my aims. Also, within our working group I take care of hydro(geo)logical field- and laboratory methods.
